Growing up, I never was much into sports (I always felt a bit awkward); however, there was one exception: weight training. It was the only thing I liked about physical education in high school. However, it wasn’t until 2001 (quite a few years after high school) before I took up the endeavor of bodybuilding full-force! A new passion took hold. As I quickly saw the extra weight drop off and a new me emerging in the mirror, everything started to change. My self esteem improved along with my overall mental health. I noticed an increase in my energy levels and I slowly started to change my eating habits (though that was the slowest progression of all).

It wasn’t until the summer of 2010 that I really began to internalize the habits necessary to take my training to a whole new level. I realized (not for the first time) the importance of a strong body/mind connection and the correlation of focusing my mental energy with my training in the gym, as well as the nutrition going into my body. I began zealously researching nutritional practices; and the more I learned, the more fascinated I became with the science of a sound nutritional diet and correct exercise protocol.

Therefore, in late 2012, I decided to focus all of this passion into a career in personal training and nutritional counseling, so that I could share my expertise and knowledge allowing others to benefit as much as I have had the pleasure of doing. And in February of 2013, I received my certification in Personal Fitness Training! One of the most exciting aspects of the fitness industry is the never-ending potential for learning; therefore, in the years to come, I plan to continue my education to receive my certification in Fitness nutrition and ultimately Sports Nutrition. More than anything I want others to have the opportunity to experience the passion and excitement that I get to experience on a daily basis!
